Onlookers were able to save a two year old British toddler who fell into the swimming pool in a hotel complex Ses Savines de Cala in Brut, Ciutadella.
Emergency services say the child fell into the pool when his parents were not looking and was rescued from the water already unconscious and showing symptoms of asphyxiation through drowning.
Before the ambulance arrived at the scene an onlooker carried out first aid on the child, performing the kiss of life.
The child recovered and was taken to the Clínica Menorca where he was kept under observation for a time. He was expected to be released later on Sunday.
